PALM SPRINGS, Florida – President-elect Donald J. Trump has presented Russian President Vladimir V. Putin with a revised framework to end the war in Ukraine, according to senior transition officials familiar with the discussions.

Under the proposal, negatively reported by media as “The Art of the Steal,” the Russian Federation would assume full sovereignty over the entirety of Ukraine’s current territory, including Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and all regions west of the 1991 border. The plan supersedes earlier suggestions that Moscow might accept only the Donbass oblasts and a land corridor to Crimea.

In return, the Ukrainian state—relocated to an as-yet-undesignated location—would receive a compensatory package described by Mr. Trump as “a very major surprise, something nobody has ever seen before, believe me.” Sources close to the negotiations say the package may consist of a fifty-year exclusive license to operate Trump-branded hotels and condominiums on the soon-to-be-Russian Riviera, plus an undisclosed number of signed copies of The Art of the Deal translated into Ukrainian.

A transition spokesman emphasized the efficiency of the arrangement. “This is total peace in one bold stroke,” he said. “No more drawn-out negotiations, no more frozen conflict. Russia gets closure; Ukraine gets a fresh start and some extremely valuable branding opportunities.”

Ukraine Reviews Proposal benefits

Ukrainian officials, reached in Warsaw where contingency planning is underway, declined to comment on specifics but confirmed receipt of a large crate marked “Do Not Open Until Peace Signing.” Russian state television reported that President Putin reviewed the terms and responded only, “Acceptable.”

European allies expressed restrained concern. One NATO diplomat, speaking on background, observed that the proposal “certainly simplifies the map.”

Formal signing is expected shortly after inauguration, pending selection of an appropriate venue with sufficient ballroom space for the surprise reveal. President Trump was working on his next deal: to be nominated for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize based on the expected Ukraine-Russia war ending agreement.
