ORLANDO, Florida — The creative people at Disney are planning to remake the Star Wars series for a younger audience since the original movies were from the 70s. That generation is already moving into their senior years. The social context, character appearance, and humor may no longer apply to the younger audience. Some of the teens with alternative lifestyles consider the movies offensive and people on screen “too clean”. Disney sees an opportunity to recapture the spirit of the Star Wars movies but with an updated storyline, character appearances, and CGI graphics that appeal to millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha.

Some of the examples provided by the movie producers on the proposed changes were related to social behavior and appearances. One example provided is that characters will have tattoos, piercings (including nose and nipple piercings), colored hair, and dreadlocks. The new versions will also explore the various lifestyles of today, including gay relationships (Han Solo and Luke Skywalker), transvest practices (proposed for Lando Calrissian), bisexual relationships (Princess Leia), and interspecies relationships (Chewbacca and Snow Creature).

Production is set to start in the spring of 2026 and is expected to hit the movie theaters in late 2027 for the family holiday season.
