AHMEDABAD, India – An Air India aircraft heading to London crashed soon after take-off last evening. The aircraft was engulfed in flames when it hit the ground. People on the ground and 240 of the 241 passengers perished in the tragic airplane crash. The accident is considered unique, with the miracle of a single survivor from those onboard the aircraft.

The survivor, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, sustained injuries but was out of danger at the time of publication. Due to the rare event of a survivor of this type of crash, investigators were questioning Mr. Ramesh to understand how he was able to survive.

“It is all Gupta’s doing”, said Mr. Ramesh. “My wife’s cousin opened a street food vending business, a very simple place, in front of the Kamla Nehru Zoo. I was concerned about his setup, but I ordered and ate his Vada Pav anyway. I had only a small bite of the sandwich, but it was enough to give me stomach problems. On the flight, once the flight attendant sat down for take-off, I ran to the restroom – I needed to go! The last thing I remember is sitting on the toilet seat, an awful odor, and then I was flying out of the airplane.”

Investigators believe that the survivor was in a weak section of the aircraft, and the flight was low enough when he was ejected to make it possible for him to survive. Mr. Ramesh was heard saying later as we were leaving the hospital: “I appreciate what Gupta did, but I am never eating there again. It must be Karma.”
