TENNESSEE – Research findings by the National Institute of Mothers Tired of Screaming Babies have confirmed that an infant throwing a full-body tantrum when denied access to a cell phone is actually a sign of normal, healthy development.
New mothers across the country have reported rising cases of babies shrieking uncontrollably to the point of vomiting, even going so far as to strike their parents with tiny, furious fists, when denied a phone, only to immediately quiet down once handed the device.
“Baby keeps crying. She slept 8 hours. I have fed her. Bathed her. Changed her. What am I doing wrong?” first-time mother Jessica Morgan confided to a mom group on Facebook.
“Have you tried giving her a phone?” suggested Chelsea Daniels, experienced mother of four.“Mine cried the entire day until I gave him my old iPhone. He’s currently cuddling it as he sleeps.”
According to child developmental specialist Alisha White, this behavior makes perfect sense.
“When babies are in the womb, the mother uses a cell phone. Just as babies consume the food their mothers eat, they also come to enjoy cell phone usage,” said White. “It’s actually good for them to start young. Studies show early phone exposure strengthens thumb coordination and enhances their ability to hyper-focus on a screen while ignoring real-world distractions.”
At press time, researchers confirmed that babies who don’t react to a cell phone by six months old may be “developmentally behind” and strongly recommended immediate exposure to Cocomelon on a phone before it’s too late.
