Earlier this year in the debut episode of his new TLC reality show The Baldwins, 66-year-old Alec Baldwin opened up about his family’s increasingly cramped living conditions in their 4,137-square-foot Devonshire House penthouse, which he described as “too small.” Despite the $11.7 million price tag, Baldwin’s home is packed to the brim with wife Hilaria, seven kids, four dogs, four cats, and what must be an army of nannies, making the space feel more like a zoo than a luxury apartment.
Clearly feeling the pressure of his overcrowded living situation, Baldwin took a moment to reflect on the options. “It’s almost like…somebody’s got to go,” he mused, pulling the trigger on his trademark humor. “At this point, I could let loose and just start clearing some space,” he joked, letting off a round of finger guns aimed at the carpet.
The situation, while tinged with humor, is no laughing matter. Baldwin’s life behind closed doors seems far less serene than his public persona would suggest, and it’s clear that taking aim at his current living arrangement might be the first step toward shaking up the family dynamic.
