TORONTO, Canada – Superstar Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. has agreed to a contract extension with his current team, the Toronto Blue Jays, for a team-record-setting $674 million. Per the terms of the agreement, a large part of that money will be deferred and eventually paid into a bank account that he has set aside for his descendants.

“I’m happy to finally get this deal done,” Guerrero said, through an interpreter, as he got into a brand new snowmobile, one of the many perks of the new contract. “Everyone knows that I wanted to stay in Toronto. And now, I can, for the entirety of my career.”

Per the terms of the contract, Guerrero, Jr. will receive an annual salary of $30 million for the next 15 years. Assorted other incentives and bonuses (including a yearly delivery of a fleet of new SUVs and naming rights on Canada’s next battleship) will bring that part of the contract up to a potential of $500 million. The remaining $174 million will be made in annual installments of $2 million, ending in the year 2112.

“It’s Bobby Bonilla Day all over again,” said a longtime New York Mets fans, referring to the contract that the former Mets great agreed to that resulted in his receiving an annual $1 million payout long after he had retired.

Asked about the annual payments, Guerrero said that he would do his part and get married and have a family, so as to ensure that the team would pay to the full amount of the agreement. As to the year in which the contract ends, the Dominican superstar had this to say: “Well, as it turns out, my dad is a RUSH fan. Who knew?”
