CAPE CANEVERAL, FL – NASA will soon launch its newest space telescope, dubbed SPHEREx, which is designed to figure out precisely what life in the Milky Way is all about. SPHERx will also serve as a sort of galactic Uber for a secondary tag along mission for something called PUNCH. The PUNCH is to see if the sun is really as hot as Al Gore says it is.
According to the space agency, the mission was dreamed up by some of NASA’s senior officials who finally came to the realization that counseling and therapy really wasn’t helping them figure out what life was all about.
“Sure, we know the importance of Bloody Mary’s, a good craft beer, Cheerios, and that trail mix you can get at Whole Foods in everyone’s life, at least those of us at NASA,” said senior official Ned Huperstein. “But we think there’s more to it than that and it might be found somewhere outside the earth. My therapist seems to think so anyway. In fact, she’ll be on the mission.”
When reached for comment, family counselor Wendy Wutsup said, “I like to think of the whole Milky Way as one giant family. I’m excited to see what we can see out there. If there is a key ingredient or two for life that we may be missing, I think we should find out what those are. I just watched the Academy Awards, God knows there must be something else. And just in case we determine there isn’t anything else, I’m bringing along a lot of that Whole Foods trail mix.”
