NEW YORK, NY – Andrew Cuomo says he is ready to take a step up in the world and serve as mayor of New York City. The former New York Governor and U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development said it would be “a great honor” to represent the people of New York in “a fun new way.” As a sign of his intent to govern in that spirit, he announced a series of giveaways and fundraisers to boost his approval ratings among those who might remember just why he left the governor’s mansion in 2021.
Among the things planned by the “Lend Andrew a Hand” campaign are a series of raffles to give away state fair tickets, a bake sale featuring cakes and pies baked by Cuomo family and friends, a made-for-TV weekend of Cuomo himself participating in a car wash promotion, and a giant Times Square money drop, featuring a balloon slowly descending and then emptying its basket filled with dollar bills. “I hope it’s not a windy day,” said one campaign insider.
