ORLANDO, Florida – A Florida woman shocked her family by traveling to Italy – and not sharing any photos or videos on social media. Amberleigh Smith, 22, recently traveled with a friend to Florence, Italy, for three weeks. Despite the lengthy trip, Amberleigh and her friend, Sara, didn’t record a single TikTok or Instagram reel while they were abroad. Upon her return, Kimberly reported that her family was shocked and surprised by the severe lack of content creation.
“We thought she would have done one of those TikTok dances in front of the Eiffel Tower,” lamented her mother, Kimberly, before being corrected that the Eiffel Tower is, in fact, in Paris. However, it’s not that Amberleigh completely neglected to take photos. The 20-something revealed to us that she and Sara did, in fact, photograph their journey. However, to the shock and awe of Kimberly, Amberleigh did so with a film camera.“I didn’t even know she knew how to use one of those,”
Kimberly told us in an exclusive interview. The most shocking of all was what Amberleigh and Sara did instead of documenting their jaunt on social media. The college-aged pair reported waking up with the sunrise every day, going for morning jogs, and writing lengthy journal entries chronicling their days. What’s more, Kimberly was flabbergasted to discover that the journal entries were all written by hand. “I just didn’t raise my daughter like this,” she explained.
When catching up with Amberleigh, she revealed that she and Sara are planning another trip abroad next year. On this trip, however, the rebellious pair have discussed not bringing along their iPads, and opting to pack several books instead.
