SAN FRANCISCO, California – The State of California announced today that it will no longer complete the bullet train project. Governor Gavin Newsom explained during a press conference at a homeless conference in San Francisco that the project’s projected budget is $150 billion, with a completion date in 2081.

The State of California will instead convert the work completed to date in a single lane bus lane. The bus will be a new class of bullet bus to replace the bullet train at a lower cost. Governor Newsom conceded that the bullet bus called the Rainbow Express will not be as fast as a bullet train, but it will get the job done.

During the presentation, Governor Newsom presented a large poster board of the Rainbow Express. When confronted on why the line ended in Corcoran, CA, he replied: “The remaining budget will only take us to Corcoran. People from San Francisco will be able to visit the region best known for its cotton and cattle farming. People in Corcoran can now use the express bus to visit San Francisco’s colorful downtown”.
