CHICAGO, Illinois – McDonalds announced today the launch of a new signature hamburger as part of its creative marketing effort to increase declining sales and hamburger sizes. The new hamburger, named McPumpkin, is being launched as a fall promotional item with three options to choose from: Cinnamon Pumpkin, Spicy McPumpkin, or Spooky McPumpkin Pie for a sweet version of the large hamburger with double patty. A spokesman for McDonalds discussed with The Perineal that the hamburger also celebrates two other themes: Halloween, a popular family event and opportunity for this product’s sales, and the launch timing of this hamburger also celebrates Trump for announcing the end of the COVID pandemic during the month of October, 2020.
The hamburger has an appropriately orange colored patty made from vegetable sources, but it is mainly made of rice and contains orange coloring. This new vegan offering also features an almond-based mayonnaise, pickles, spices, Kale (instead of lettuce), and cooked eggplant (instead of tomatoes). Meals will come with either regular fries or toasted pumpkin seeds. McDonalds expects the new offering to be available at stores nationwide on October 1st, 2025.
