WASHINGTON – The man driving the car that crashed into the White House gates has been revealed to former President Joe Biden, who, sources said, got out of the car thinking he was going home.

The car hit a barrier at the corner of 17th and E Streets at 10:30 p.m. President Trump was in the White House at the time.

Secret Service agents escorted Biden out of the car and into another waiting car, which took him to his real home. “I really thought I still lived here,” Biden said, as he threw the car keys to the agents. “Trump hasn’t changed the place much, has he? I had my only special place of reflection in there, and I hope it’s still like it used to be.”

Biden, who was the Democratic Party’s original nominee for the 2024 presidential election, pulled out of the race and then watched his successor, Vice-president Kamala Harris, lose the election. Biden has said at various times since that he would have fared better against Donald Trump, who won the election. But this is the first time that Biden has been anywhere close to the White House since Trump’s inauguration, in January 2025.

Former First Lady Jill Biden was happy to have her husband home and lamented the fact that he had given his own Secret Service detail the slip, again.

Trump later tweeted, “This is why you elected me, people. Sleepy Joe Biden is the king of mistaken identities, and he’s proved it yet again.”
